The Cool River Youth Group is currently working our way through the book of Genesis. It has been an exciting, revealing, and defining study. To fully understand our total need for a Savior it is essential to understand where we have come from. Come join us as we trek on through. We meet from 5:45-7:45p every Sunday night. Students – Don’t you wish that you could spend an entire weekend with your friends away from school work and chores?

Parents – Wouldn’t you love to send your student away for the weekend to a camp where a relationship with God is the focus?

If the answer is yes to both then Mayhem is coming!! Join us for a weekend of crazy skits, wild games, awesome music, and great teaching at Ponderosa Camp and Conference Center. This camp is for 6th-8th graders. Contact Ben for a brochure with all the details.

It's that time again. Free burgers and custard! Where? The First Blockparty of the year sponsored by Good Times burgers will be Wednesday, Oct. 8th at First Pres's Annex Building in the youth room in Boulder from 7-9pm. What is it? Blockparty is a highschool event done once a quarter where 5 or more youth group come together to worship, eat, fellowship, and play games. It has been an amazing time in the past and I look foward to you guys getting to experience it.

It's B.O.N. (break out of the norm) time. We're gonna play a little baseball, but sometimes it gets a little boring using a ball. So we’re going to use fruit. This is a Sunday you don't want to miss. We will meet next Sunday, July 20th at 4:30pm at the Gibson's house and head out from there. Don't forget your $2 to help cover the fruit cost. See ya there.

Every year on the 4th of July we celebrate with our town. Come join us from 8am-noon at community park and help flip some pancakes. We have had an incredible impact on our town for one main reason, service, so come and join us.

Sunday, March 9th we willl be begining a new series titled "The Incomparable Jesus". Guys(and girls), I can't tell you how excited I am about this one. We will be starting with "They said He's coming... The Prophecies" where we will look back in the Old Testament at the prophecies that came through in Jesus. Then we'll move into the God-man, 100% God and 100% man. This is just the tip of the ice berg, and it only gets better. Be sure not to miss out and be sure to bring a friend.

Free Ice Skating Sunday Nov. 4th

We have been blessed with an awesome opportunity to go ice skating at Boulder Valley Ice. A lady that works there connected with me and gave me 20 free skate passes. I would love to use all of them in one Sunday if we could, not because we have to, but because it would be sweet to get 20 of you guys all together at once to fellowship. It's open to you and a friend or two or three, just make sure you R.S.V.P. and let me know so we have enough for everyone coming. We will skate from 1:30 - 3:oo pm and this will be in place of our normal youth meeting.

Friendship with God

We are starting a brand new study called Friendship with God. Its gonna take us back to the basics so we can really get a grip on who we are in Christ and what that means. We will also be talking about why the Creator of the universe wants to be in a relationship with each and every one of us. Its going to be an amazing study and a great one to bring your friends to. Hey guys(and girls). Just wanted shoot a little thank you out. Thank you all for your participation in Cool River's Youth Group. I can't tell you what an exciting adventure this position is for me. The journey that God takes each one of us on is each so unique and amazing at the same time. He places us where he wants and needs us even when we don't feel adequately equipped. I heard a saying once that goes like this, "God doesn't call the eqipped, he equips the called" and scriptures tells us that he "chooses the foolish things of this world". Well if thats the case then I am qualified, and so are each one of you. I want you all to know that you mean so much to me and I will keep giving it my all to be the best I can be, and I appreciate all of your patience as we journey together.

Ice Blocking

Middle-schoolers are you ready for some winter games in the summer? Well, do we have a treat for you. This Thursday at 5:30pm at Purple Park we will be taking some sweet runs on ice blocks. We are hooking up with Wyldlife and they are expecting over 100 of you guys to be there. The cost is just 2 bucks and you need to wear old clothes and bring a towel. Ski-bib not required. See ya there.

The Crossing

The Crossing is a place where you can hang out with other high school students from your school and other schools. It is a place where you can worship the Lord with our live band (they rock!!), grow in your faith, meet in small groups and enjoy snacks! We checked this out thisprevious Monday, and you guys really seemed to dig it. The Crossing is every Monday night and we are deciding how many times a month we will go. Let us know your thoughts.
